Apilado is a dinnerware set consisting of a bowl, plate, and cup specifically designed for tapa cuisine. Tapa cuisine is community focused with small portion sizes designed to be eaten by a small group of people.

I used the setting of a cozy bar as the basis for my dinnerware set. As a result, I wanted to create a set that was easy to store and added to the atmosphere of the bar.
The plate, bowl and cup are all designed to stack seamlessly with one another. The plates and bowls can be stacked interchangeably, allowing the user to create a decorative column.
The final product uses a combination of a warm wood texture and a shiny glasslike finish. This is meant to mimic wooden dishes being partially dipped into enamel paint.

This process creates a unique pattern on each dish, allowing the dishes to match the rustic artistry of tapas cuisine.
